Spring Patient Newsletter 2026

Welcome to Our Spring 2026 Newsletter!

Welcome to the Spring edition of the Burton Latimer Medical Centre patient newsletter. In this issue, we share updates on our patient survey, carried out in partnership with the Patient Participation Group, changes to local blood testing services, and information on the spring rollout of COVID-19 vaccinations. As always, we remain committed to providing safe, high-quality care for all our patients.

Patient Participation Group Patient Survey

We are currently conducting a survey and kindly ask you to take part. This survey has been designed in collaboration with our patient participation group to provide feedback on our services. In October, we implemented an online booking system called anima. we now want to use your feedback to evaluate our service so we can deliver you the best possible care. This survey is confidential and anonymous and should only take a few minutes to complete, it has been designed to be completed by people 16 years of age and above.

An Update on Blood Tests at the Practice

If your GP has requested for you to have a blood test these are available at the surgery; however, due to high demand our phlebotomy clinics are often fully booked up to three months in advance. If a blood test is required more urgently, patients may be advised to book at an alternative venue. Appointments elsewhere can be booked online at www.kgh.nhs.uk or by calling 01536 494411.

From the 9th of March Nene Park, Outpatients Nuffield Diagnostic Centre Corby and Isebrook Outpatients Wellingborough will no longer offer walk-ins for urgent blood tests. However, Kettering General Hospital Pathology Department will continue to be available for urgent walk-in appointments between 8.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays), for Patient’s who have had urgent bloods requested by their GP or Consultant.

Thank you to all patients for your patience and understanding while our team works to manage blood test appointments safely for everyone.

Covid Vaccinations

The COVID-19 Spring Booster Campaign will begin on 13th April, and we will shortly be sending out invitations to eligible patients. This important programme is designed to help protect those most at risk as we move into the spring and summer months.

Eligible groups include individuals aged 6 months to 74 years who are immunocompromised, all patients aged 75 and over, as well as those living in care homes or who are housebound. If you are eligible, please expect your invitation very soon and book your vaccination at the surgery or by calling 119 to ensure you remain protected.

A Notice from the Burton Latimer Medical Centre Patient Participation Group

Burton Latimer Medical Centre (BLMC) is always looking for new ways to enhance the patient experience and improve the services it offers. One way of driving this is through the BLMC Patient Participation Group (PPG).

The PPG supports the surgery in a variety of ways, one of which is by providing a voice to represent the patients of BLMC. The PPG is made up of a group of individuals who are all registered with the surgery and live in the local area, all with a keen interest in making a difference for patients.

The PPG is currently a small group who hail from a variety of backgrounds, from customer service, finance, business owner to construction, giving us a broad range of skills and insights. Whilst we all have our own reasons for joining the PPG we share a common interest in wanting to help others and drive positive changes that improve the services of the surgery, but ultimately, and most importantly, benefit its patients.

We attend regular meetings with BLMC, to offer a patient perspective to discussions around surgery initiatives. We also intend to be able to offer updates to the wider patient community on some of the challenges that BLMC faces, along with some of the great things the surgery does, that may not be immediately obvious.

If you would like more information about the BLMC PPG, please let the surgery know and they will put us in touch.

Look out for the new Patient Survey. Both BLMC and the PPG want to hear from you so we can continue to improve the services we all value so much.
