Appointments

For non-urgent issues, please follow the guidelines below and choose the right service. An appointment may not be necessary.

Get in touch with us using our online consultation platform called Anima

If your condition is non-urgent, you can get in touch with us using our online consultation platform called Anima.

Simply follow the on-screen instructions and answer the multiple-choice questions in the online form. Anima prioritises each form based on clinical urgency and need using the information you provide. This will help us ensure you get the right help, whether it's self-care advice, a prescription ready for pickup at your chosen pharmacy, an in-person appointment at the practice, or something else. It’s convenient, secure and could save you time.

Whether you call, visit in person, or use Anima, we make sure patients are seen by the most appropriate clinician in the most appropriate time frame for the presenting medical issue.

Anima is a secure online platform for medical or admin queries. To use it you must sign up using your email address. For more information click here. Contact Us Online with Anima

It will take you through a detailed questionnaire and your case will be reviewed by one of our team. Appointments will be allocated according to clinical need and urgency. We offer same day and pre-booked appointments or else you may be directed to another service, such as physiotherapy or health and wellbeing team.

Alternatively contact us by telephone on 01536 723566

Our telephone lines get very busy, particularly from 8am each day, so if you are able to wait until the afternoon please do so. We also have a callback option that operates at times of high demand meaning that you can register and we will phone you when you reach the top of the queue.

If you are unable to use Anima then our care navigators can submit an Anima request on your behalf and will go through the Anima questionnaire with you.

In person: Unfortunately we do not book appointments in person, so if you need medical attention please use Anima or telephone us.

Sickness certificates (fit notes)

You must give your employer a doctor's 'fit note' (sometimes called a 'sick note') if you've been ill for more than 7 days in a row and have taken sick leave. This includes non-working days, such as weekends and bank holidays.

Home visits

Home visits will only be made to patients the doctors consider to be too ill or immobile to come to the surgery. There is no automatic right to a home visit. Requests should be made, if possible, before 10.30am giving the receptionist as much information as you can to assist the doctor in deciding the degree of urgency.

Change or Cancel an Appointment

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please inform the practice as soon as possible. Missed appointments are a waste of a health professionals time. If you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment you may be asked to rebook.
