Autumn 2026 Newsletter
Welcome to the Autumn edition of the Burton Latimer Medical Centre patient newsletter.
As we head into autumn and winter, this edition includes important information about our upcoming flu and COVID-19 vaccination clinics, our wider winter health campaign, and how to use Anima to access our services and get the right support when you need it. We’ll also share some of the ways we’re working to improve our practice and the experience of our patients, including updates on our services and how your feedback helps us identify where we can do better.
A reminder on using anima to access our services
A reminder that Anima is the quickest and easiest way to contact the practice about a health concern or request. Using Anima helps us understand what you need and ensures your request is directed to the most appropriate member of our team.
Since introducing Anima, we’ve been able to use the information and feedback from patient requests to better understand demand, identify where improvements are needed and continue to develop how we deliver our services.
If you need to contact us, please use Anima wherever possible. Thank you for helping us make the best use of our services and improve access for everyone.
Flu
Flu can be more serious than a few days of feeling unwell, particularly if you are older, pregnant or have certain long-term health conditions. It can lead to complications such as pneumonia, require hospital treatment and make existing health conditions worse.
Your flu vaccination is your best protection against flu this winter. If you are eligible, please take up the offer and book your vaccination with us when you receive your invitation. It only takes a few minutes and can help protect you, your loved ones and others in our community who may be more vulnerable.
From 14 September
Flu vaccination clinics available for pregnant women and children aged 2 and 3.
From 1 October
Flu and COVID vaccination clinics available for eligible patients, including people with certain long-term health conditions, Patients aged 65 and over and other eligible groups
If you have received an invitation, please book your vaccination as soon as possible by speaking to our reception team or using the booking link provided in your invitation.
By having your vaccination with us, you are also helping us make the best use of the vaccines we have ordered and supporting our ability to continue providing
Macmillan coffee morning
On Friday 25 September, we’ll be taking part in Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, coming together as a team to enjoy some tea, coffee and plenty of treats while raising money for a fantastic cause.
The money raised helps Macmillan support the almost 3.5 million people in the UK living with cancer, helping to ensure they can access the support and care they need.
We’re looking forward to taking a little time out together, enjoying some well-deserved treats and doing our bit to support Macmillan.
Improving your experience
We know that long telephone wait times can be frustrating, and we’re committed to making it easier for our patients to access the practice.
We’re pleased to share that in August, 77% of our calls were answered within 4 minutes. This is a positive step forward as we continue working to improve our telephone service and reduce waiting times.
Your feedback is important to us; it helps us understand what we’re doing well and where we can make improvements to the services we provide. Following your appointment, we may send you a text message inviting you to complete a short patient feedback survey. Taking a few minutes to share your experience helps us understand what matters to our patients and identify areas where we can continue to improve.
If you receive a feedback survey from us, we’d really appreciate you taking the time to complete it. Every response helps us learn and develop our services for our patients.
